Since joining Chard Development in 2014, Byron has extended the company’s focus beyond residential development in Victoria to include purpose-built rental, affordable ownership and market condominium development in Victoria, Vancouver and North Vancouver. As President & CEO, he is responsible for the day to day operations and management of Chard. Under his guidance, Chard currently has over one million square feet of development in construction or pre-development including approximately 600 condominium suites, 700 purpose-built rental suites and multiple commercial developments. As a second-generation developer, Byron believes that it is his responsibility to assist British Columbians in moving up the housing continuum. In every project undertaken, he looks for ways to provide a diversity of housing, often going beyond what is required to include non-profit housing and other community benefits within Chard’s projects.
