As AI continues its unprecedented spread through business and consumer based applications, it has become very clear that this sea-change is going to bring new challenges and opportunities for us all to consider. This zeitgeist of 'the automation of the mind' is writing itself permanently into the very fabric of our relationships with technology and each other. The field of Applied AI has blossomed with the application of practical machine learning systems to everyday pain points. While many early efforts are sometimes fragile in practice, more robust projects are stunning in scope and utility. Nearly everyday the headlines run with intriguing stories of Applied AI that give us both a sense of wonder and worry. I have focused my career on helping people communicate knowledge and vision through technology. I am finding new applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning for unique use cases, big data sets and knowledge graphs, across a number of sectors. Currently I am working with Applied AI across a number of different projects including health, consumer, communication, collaboration, IoT and retail applications. We have entered a new era with new rules and how we adapt as consumers and businesses will dictate our success.
