Danny Halarewich

Hi 👋, I’m a Dad to a boy toddler (send help), entrepreneur, product leader, e-commerce SaaS veteran, tech startup advisor and occasional angel investor. I’m currently CEO of Pixel Union Apps, a WeCommerce (TSXV:WE) company. We build and acquire delightful Shopify Apps that empower independent shop owners around the world. In early 2019, I joined Mailchimp after they acquired my company, LemonStand. As Head of Commerce, I put into place the initial product vision, strategy and roadmap for MailChimp Stores, and assembled a team to execute on it. I also helped Mailchimp establish their first international office in Vancouver and build a presence in the local tech community. Reporting to a Board of C-suite executives, I worked with my team to grow the headcount by 6x within a year, and helped institute a business incubation operating model to allow new units to operate in a lean and agile way within the larger org. Previously, I was Founder and CEO of LemonStand, a scrappy but VC backed e-commerce platform company that helped hundreds of small businesses launch online stores, with some scaling to tens of millions per year in revenue. Prior to LemonStand, I built a web design and development agency, where we consulted for Fortune 500s and startups alike. Over the period of 8 years, I lead the agency in completing $100K+ projects for brands like Telltale Games, MasterCard and Yahoo, and nearly 100 different projects for various small businesses. In 2016 I was awarded the honor of being in the BC Business 30 under 30.
