My passion is working with owners and senior management of privately-owned businesses whether as a board member, an advisor or in leadership and helping them deal with their businesses and family issues. Since retiring as a partner of PwC’s in 2017, I have served on a number of Boards, Advisory Boards and Family Councils which has been a natural extension to the work I have been doing throughout my career. In January 2021, I became the CEO of Alder Bay Equity Partners. We acquire and grow existing operating businesses primarily in Western Canada using our own capital conservatively leveraged. Our businesses include a full service wholesale supplier of glass products, a 3PL logistics and warehouse company and farm and industrial equipment dealerships. I have held numerous management and senior leadership roles over my career at PwC including Global roles where I worked with colleagues across the world developing our Global Entrepreneurial and Private Clients practice, one of PwC's global strategic growth areas. I have also worked in Human Resources, Audit and Assurance, and for seven years building and leading the Private Company Services practices in Canada. I have served as the Chairman of the PwC Canadian Partnership Board. Specialties: accounting and assurance services, family succession planning, tax experience both corporate and personal, corporate reorganizations and strategic planning. I have helped businesses in the Automotive Retail, Food Manufacturing, Wholesale Distribution, Real Estate Development and Asset Management and Professional Services industries. I am active in my local business and not for profit community having served as a director of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, BC Division, as a member of the Board of Governors for the CA's Educational Foundation, as a member of the University of B.C.'s Chancellor's Advisory Council. I have volunteered extensively for several local Vancouver community charities. I help the Choose Again Society maintain a Center for Attitudinal Healing in Costa Rica and provide workshops worldwide. We offer intensive self-awareness programs to help people heal depression, anxiety, stress, addiction, dysfunctional relationships, and other issues.
