Jes Kirkwood

Jes Kirkwood is a content marketing strategist and leader with nearly 15 years of experience. Her empathy for the customer, expertise in search engine optimization, and knack for narrative design separate her from the pack. Armed with these skills, she’s spent the last decade driving predictable business growth for B2B SaaS startups. Jes currently runs Growth Masters by Twilio Segment, an online academy where product managers learn how to build and scale products customers love. She also helps Fortune 500 healthcare and insurance brands build and manage high-performing content programs at Contently. In her spare time, she’s building Bedr, an app that curates a personalized binge eating disorder treatment plan tailored to your unique symptoms. Jes previously led content marketing, search engine optimization, and social media as the Head of Content at Postclick, the global leader in digital advertising conversion, and before that, Copper, the world’s top-funded CRM startup. Prior to breaking into leadership, Jes did marketing for other high-growth technology startups, including InVision and Autopilot. Outside of work, Jes helps women in tech grow their marketing careers through marketHER.org. The organization, which was founded in 2018, publishes HERstory, a weekly newsletter featuring the career growth stories of leading marketing ladies from companies like HubSpot, Airbnb, MailChimp, Uber, and Facebook, with an emphasis on how they overcame common obstacles faced by women in tech to break into leadership. This worked landed her in the top 50 nominees for 2X Woman of the Year 2018, an award spearheaded by The Hustle in partnership with Salesforce. Over the last 15 years, Jes has worked remotely from cities like Vancouver, Montreal, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Prague. She identifies with values like diversity and inclusion, access over ownership, and work-life balance. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Super Natural British Columbia with her wife Zuzana and two-year-old fluff ball Whiskey.
