Julie (Zih Tien) Wang

I am a motivated and dedicated Grade 11 student at Crofton House School, aiming to pursue a career in international or sustainable business in Canada. In school, I am involved in many community-building and leadership activities, which include leading roles in multiple senior drama productions, assisting in the direction of junior productions, the house council lead for fostering school spirit, and a variety of in-school clubs relating to business, social and racial responsibility, and sustainability. Outside of the school walls, I've acquired an abundance of experiences to support my future goals, ranging from my job as a social media manager working in the apparel/fashion industry with HOB Thrift Store, and my expertise in sales industry with my job at Buchan's Stationery. Additionally, I am currently a digital marketing intern with Straws & Stuff, gaining mastery in effectively employing social media marketing tactics (Tik Tok, Instagram, etc), Adobe Illustrator, iMovie, etc. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering and dancing Hip Hop. I am currently volunteering with A.WARE Foundation as the lead program coordinator. In this position, I spearhead art programs for young children with down-syndrome and neurodiverse individuals, requiring patience, project planning, and inclusivity. Furthermore, my passion and diligence for dance have allowed me to secure a consistent position on Dance Co's Senior Company Hip Hop and Senior Elite team, where mandatory auditions to ensure a high level of dance proficiency were conducted. I will be graduating high school in June 2023, and the Smith School of Business and UBC Sauder are some of the many programs that I would like to attend; however, I still recognize the need for flexibility in PSI planning and career choices and hope to receive tips on choosing suitable goals. After post-secondary, I am still unsure of the direction I would like to pursue, thus I am interested in connecting with business professionals for coffee chats to learn about their expertise to discover my own path.
