Liz Hunt

In 2018, I realized I needed to work in cultures that were more consistently welcoming, inspirational, and healthy (like the experiences I’d had at two International Development Design Summits in Botswana). My career to that point had been in tech — at startups and companies like Google, Starbucks, and frog — where I led and grew amazing teams around the world. During those decades, my teams and I delivered hundreds of cutting-edge web, desktop, mobile, and embedded solutions, released dozens of websites and mobile apps, and launched several products. I’m grateful to have many wonderful memories and cherished friendships. Unfortunately, during that time, I also experienced a series of workplace traumas. I co-founded Smith Assembly in January 2020 to share what I’ve learned about how hands-on building activities deepen human connection and how inclusion drives success.
