Marty Reed

A long-time Bay Area executive and investor, Marty Reed moved to Vancouver in 2015 to launch Evok Innovations, a novel approach to corporate innovation, that integrates Silicon Valley start-up culture and venture capital into existing R&D / innovation efforts. As CEO, Marty leads the firm’s efforts on strategy, team building and investments. He serves on numerous boards, including Sanctuary AI, Ekona Power, Veerum and DarkVision, which was awarded the CVCA Deal of the Year. Prior to Evok, Marty was a Partner with The Roda Group, a San Francisco Bay Area based, early-stage venture capital firm focused on clean technology. In that capacity, Marty lead investments and served on the board of directors for Svante, Axine, Gridtential and Carbon Neutral Ag Sciences. Prior to joining The Roda Group, Marty held senior leadership positions at Roda Group portfolio companies Cardstore.com (acquired by American Greetings), Game Ready (acquired by Avanos Medical) and Ask Jeeves (acquired by InterActiveCorp). Marty holds an MBA from John F. Kennedy University and a BSc in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, and began his career as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.
