Michael Brink

What is the basis of your decision making? Intuition or data? Michael Brink is the Founder of BalloonBox, a software company based in Vancouver. Prior to starting up BalloonBox just over a year ago he spent most of his career working as a data scientist in South Africa. His three year stint at a startup based in San Francisco introduced him to the world of fintech which he views as a domain rich with complex problems that are especially fun to solve. Michael started BalloonBox with the aim of helping companies fall in love with their data and create strategies that monetize that data. More often than not, this requires building products or tools - the software development leg of BalloonBox. Michael enjoys mixing the creativity component of his work with exercise. Much of the brainstorming, ideation or critical thinking often happens somewhere in the heart of Pacific Spirit Park while on a trail run. BC’s outdoors was a large contributing factor to moving to Vancouver in 2019 where he currently resides with his wife and son.
