Paige Whitehead

Hi, I'm Paige. I am an environmentalist-turned-biotech-founder & CEO of Nyoka Design Labs - we've developed a non-toxic, compostable glow stick powered with bioluminescence - called the Nyoka Light Wand. This creation brings together my main passions in life: the soil microbiome, bioluminescence, and the collective power of human beings. We are currently fundraising for fall 2021 and are seeking strategic investors experienced in one or more of; commercial products, biotech, cleantech, and events. My background is in Microbiology, Environmental Studies, and Permaculture Design, and I am an active member of the MIT Media Lab's Community Biotechnology Initiative. I'm a data nut and enjoy working in research related to tech development, systems theory, myco and microremediation, and ecosystem resilience, as well as creating art & content for promotional and educational communications. I love how video can transform science into an exciting, immersive experience. I am currently learning via Indie Bio NY Class 2, the leading biotech accelerator in the world, and NEXT Founder, Canada's bootcamp for the 36 most promising founders of the year.
