Horin Tonkotsu Ramen

Over 50 years ago, in the region of Ogori in Fukuoka Prefecture, there was a restaurant which for the first time in Japan used chili peppers in its tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen. It became famous throughout the land as “the restaurant where chili ramen was created.

Eager to taste its ramen, people from all over Japan would come and line up outside. Unfortunately, the restaurantʼs founder became a victim of his own success. Unable to handle all the business, he became ill and, even though it would be missed, closed his restaurant.
