The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, also known as the Planetarium, has been British Columbia’s premier space science attraction since its doors opened in 1968. We work hard to bridge arts, culture, and science to bring you unique shows, exhibits, and special events that spark your curiosity and inspire exploration.

Originally a gift to the citizens of Vancouver from philanthropist H.R. MacMillan, the facility has evolved into a community resource centre that proudly offers learning opportunities for people of all ages through a variety of in-person and online programs.

We are visited by over 145,000 people a year, who are attracted by a myriad of public lectures and events, school and public programs and cultural activities that raise public awareness of science literacy. The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre has become a critical and active partner in community outreach and development.
