About Me

Alex's background started in Australia producing and directing public broadcast documentaries, music videos and commercials. In 2014 he was one of the producers on the iconic Australian anthology feature film, THE TURNING, starring Cate Blanchett and Rose Byrne which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2014. The film received best film nominations at the AACTA Awards, Asia Pacific Screen Awards and the Australian Film Critics Association Awards. Other credits include directing and producing the arts documentaries, NOT A WILLING PARTICIPANT (Slamdance 2010) for ABC TV and A WAR OF HOPE for NITV/SBS; 1st ADing for Seven network's THE AMAZING RACE AUSTRALIA, Field Producing for Fremantle Media and Lifestyle's GRAND DESIGNS AUSTRALIA and Directing the 2014 interactive video KEVIL HILL for Dreamworld and Hoodlum. Alex has directed and produced an array of music videos for artists including, Emma Louise, Ball Park Music and Kate Miller-Heidke. In 2015 Screen Producers Australia (SPA) named Alex in their ones to watch" emerging producers program. Over the last decade Alex has had the opportunity of co-directing and collaborating on multichannel video artwork with some of Australia's most prolific artists including Judy Watson, Richard Bell and Vernon Ah Kee. The works have been showcased around the world including at The Istanbul Biennial and acquired in permanent collections such as The Tate Modern, MCA and National Gallery of Victoria. Since moving to Los Angeles Alex shifted his focus into development and has since worked on TV and Films including HOUSE OF CARDS, MANHUNT: UNABOMBER (Discovery), and the FIFTY SHADES OF GREY franchise. Alex now works as a development executive collaborating with and scouting some of the brightest creative minds in the industry. When not in the office, you'll find Alex exploring the local LA food scene or road tripping back roads and backpacking to incredible sites in California. "
