I am a Mathematician with a solid background in theoretical Math, holding a degree and a PhD both granted by the University of Lisbon. Adding to such background, I have gained experience as an educator working as a university instructor and as a tutor in several contexts and for students of various levels of educations. I have also experience in education in a broader sense, as I lived 3 years in Timor-Leste, in Southeast Asia. For the most part, I worked there as direct adviser to the Vice-Minister of Education in charge of secondary and higher education. In that position I was able to acquire skills in multitasking and establishing priorities in a highly demanding work environment. I could also interact with multiple stakeholders, including both local organizations and global agencies, and be part of the negotiation and implementation of technical agreements and partnerships aiming to develop the education sector of Timor-Leste. I have currently relocated to Vancouver, BC, Canada, where I am pursuing further studies in theology, my other field of interest. At the same time, I work part-time as an Office Administrator at Mountainview Christian Fellowship and as a Project Assistant at Regent College.
