Emily McTeer
In British Columbia, CanadaAbout Me
I’m Emily, nice to meet you! I’m a big picture thinker and I feel privileged to be a part of this bustling Vancouver Tech community. The palpable aura of ingenuity and entrepreneurship simply vibrates from the people that I am lucky to talk with everyday in this beautiful city I call home. As an English Literature major I am a mean cocktail party accompaniment when 18th century poetry casually comes up in conversation. All jokes aside though- I absolutely loved learning and reading (and reading and reading…) about The Greats that carefully documented their insights about what was happening in the world around them. Furthermore, I have a professional background in customer service and have witnessed first hand- and have come to appreciate- the value of both positive and negative customer experiences delivered by front-line customer service agents from my time at one of the most recognized brands in the sky. I have successfully completed my Online Marketing and Social Media Certificate at BCIT, where I have been inspired by the incredible reach and capacity that digital, and especially social media, has to influence people so quickly and profoundly. Not only am I officially certified, but from my experience at New Westminster's media gem, Speed Shift Media, as a Digital Media Coordinator, to my current role at Thrive Digital, I am immersed everyday in the fast paced digital advertising world where the only constant is change (and I couldn't be happier). Other than speaking in, and writing in, a lot of exclamations points (#fact!), I have developed a keen desire to be a part of customer-centric organizations. From my past and current studies, coupled with my people-focused roles, I have discovered that I love to build and tell stories: I can't wait to tell yours!
