I’m both a data scientist and learning scientist who enjoys challenging problems. Educational technology should be as interactive and evidence-based as possible, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty in all aspects of a project—instructional design, development, and analysis. On any given day, I use Bayesian statistics, machine learning, causal Inference, and even psychometrics to solve problems. I use both Python (NumPy, Pandas, etc.) and R along with other software packages as needed such as Tetrad, a causal discovery package inference that can be used for Bayesian networks, etc. I’ve worked on educational technology projects across diverse age groups (pre-school to adult), worked in multiple media genres (including online learning platforms, virtual reality, and educational video games), and worked with diverse subject matter experts (including construction work trainers, lawyers, surgeons, teachers, and more). As far as other interests, I love music, especially classical music and academic music theory, and enjoy reading among other things.
