Folake Huntoon
In California, United StatesAbout Me
Born in the Bronx and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Folake Kuye Huntoon has been building her career since entering fashion school at age 15. She eschewed the traditional fashion school route and instead forged her own path. After moving back to the States for college, her passion to design and fire for fashion persistently lit the way forward. Folake’s first foray into fashion was selling self-designed shirts while in college. She continued with WeWe Clothing in 2007, a mommy-and-me, daddy-and-me clothing line which was carried on Zullily.com and in local boutiques. Style Pantry followed two years later, which quickly amassed a much wider and loyal following. Over time, WeWe Clothing gave way to other lines, Shoxie and Loft324, all building towards the eponymous, FKSP | Folake Kuye Style Pantry, which launched to rave reviews in October 2017. FKSP, black woman owned, is located in Los Angeles’s famed Fashion District. Not only does Folake still design all of her company’s styles, FKSP runs its own factory and fulfillment facilities in DTLA, as well. While Folake’s style continues to evolve, it is always driven by the desire to make stylish, accessible, and budget-friendly pieces for the every day woman. Her clothes are meant for everyone; she has enjoyed a deep connection with women of color around the world and works tirelessly for equal representation in fashion.
