I’m curious about everyone’s story — whether you’re a human being or an animated character. I’m a writer with more than 10 years of digital editorial experience. In my freelance line of work, I’ve written in verticals that range from entertainment to advertising. I’m the driving force behind Advertising Week’s PopIcon, a column about brand mascots in the ad industry. I educate readers on the origins of advertising’s hardest working employees — the brand mascot! I work alongside brands like General Mills, Post, P&G, Kellogg’s, Allstate, Kraft, and more to research character backgrounds, and interview past and present creatives that have overseen campaigns for these icons. Additionally, you can find my bylines featured on Business Insider (a mix of entertainment and career op/eds), Fairygodboss (advice for all stages of your career), Joy (wedding etiquette and planning tips), Ed2010 (career advice for those pursuing editorial work), and Brit + Co, HelloGiggles, and BettyConfidential for the entertainment roundups. These clips and more can be found on my website heatherannetaylor.com. In my full-time line of work, I’m the Communications Coordinator for MyCorporation.com. Here I dabble in a little bit of everything under the comms umbrella including ghostwriting, blog writing and editing, newsletter creation, and social media content creation, scheduling, and posting. One of my strongest suits is scrappy public relations pitching and securing media coverage for our company. On average, I secure 15-20 earned media placements each month on major media outlets including MSN, AP, ABC News, Forbes, and much more in the small business and entrepreneurial sectors. I pitch it like I mean it and can write a solid press release too, among conducting additional PR efforts and outreach. It’s all part of my need to tell, and continue to tell, great stories that pertain to small business. I’m always ready to chat! You can reach me at [email protected] to get the conversation started and see how I can help you tell, and share, your brand’s narrative and story to the world at large.
