Jonah Joffe
In Greater Vancouver Metropolitan AreaAbout Me
Jonah Joffe brings 20 years of cooking experience to the table. After graduating from the culinary program at SAIT at the age of 21, Jonah worked his way up to Chef de Cuisine in some of Calgary’s busiest restaurants. Most notably, Alloy, under Chef Rogelio Herrera, which was awarded Top 10 restaurant in the city for all 11 years of operation. In 2011, he staged under Chef Gregory Short at the famed Masa’s in San Francisco. Beginning to appreciate the bounty of California cuisine and how mindful it was to seasonality, he fell in love with cooking all over again. Jonah now finds himself establishing his name in Vancouver, BC. With a wide variety of fresh seafood and fantastic seasonal ingredients, his love of food and wine continues to grow. When Jonah is not cooking, eating, or enjoying sports, he volunteers his time with two very special charities: The Brandon Flock Foundation and Soup Sisters. In 2012, Jonah’s closest friend tragically and unexpectedly passed away. He, along with the Flock family and other close friends, started the Brandon Flock Foundation. It offers financial aid and mentorship to disadvantaged students pursuing their passion of the Arts. Soup Sisters is a national not for profit dedicated to providing comfort to women, children, and youth through the making, sharing, and donating of soup, all while raising awareness about family violence.
