As a designer, it is important for me to put my efforts behind design that is measured in the success of our human capital - real people and the issues that effect their very quality of life. Moreover, as design and digital experiences edge ever closer toward being fully integrated, in not just our day to day, but things as important as the tools our caregivers use to maintain our health and wellness or fashion the interfaces that command vehicles and devices we hang our trust & safety on - it is paramount that we put forth design that is highly considered and ethical. Beyond that, representation, access, and accessibility in design and designing with cultural competency for users across a spectrum of identities, abilities, health considerations, and where those identities intersect is the North Star. Thriving on learning from and imparting to my peers, I'm a firm believer that varied life experiences have value beyond the anecdotal or nostalgic and with wise application - make the difference between good and GREAT experiences.
