Rory is a chef from Cheshire England. Starting in kitchens at 16 as a kitchen porter, Rory quickly moved into the front of house and then back into a cooking role training under a well known local chef Stuart Turner. He developed his skills for 2 years before moving to Vancouver BC to study at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts where he completed a dual diploma and worked as a Chef Assistant at the school following graduation. Since graduating Rory has expanded his experience working as a sous chef under several high profile Vancouver names such as 2 time Hawksworth Scholarship Finalist Ben Miller, Top Chef Canada S2 and Top Chef Canada All Stars runner up Trevor Bird and Top Chef Canada S6 contestant Jesse Zuber. During the Covid-19 lockdown, Rory also received a diploma in Food and Travel Writing from UBC where he graduated with top marks. While most comfortable cooking Modern British Cuisine, Rory is experienced in Classical French, Italian, Mediterranean and even Vietnamese food. Now 26, Rory has had roles in every part of the restaurant industry from washing dishes up to Head Chef level, including running multiple venues simultaneously. Rory is now ready to run his own brigade bringing British food with a European flair to the pacific coast.
