Roxanna Ferenz
In California, United StatesAbout Me
My Career Story: With a passion for media, I braved the traffic-ridden trek to Los Angeles. I followed in the footsteps of many recent media arts graduates and pursued a career in the film industry. Maneuvering through the freelancer lifestyle, I found my calling as an assistant director. For those of you who don't know what that is, I was running all of the set logistics and doing everything in my power to make the director's vision a reality. I ensured everyone was doing what needed to be done to make it happen. I put out the fires that inevitably appeared out of nowhere (literally and figuratively due to SFX). Yet despite all this, I was often told I was "the nicest" assistant director. Instead of yelling or enforcing, I calmly delegated and coordinated. I put in extra hours to prepare during the pre-production process, and the results showed themselves. Not only did I wrap-up sets on schedule, I wrapped up early. Exploring the job market I discovered what digital media had to offer with a temporary position at a multi-channel YouTube network ScaleLab. I quickly engaged in the world of distribution and communication. Through daily interactions with YouTubers, I learn to analyze the best approaches to content creation. These skills lead me straight to the content operations industry. My full time job at Frequency was an ever evolving start-up environment. I engaged with a large array of content and programming practices. I liaise with digital providers worldwide, including influential YouTubers, popular digital brands, AT&T, DIRECTV, Liberty Global, Charter, TiVo, Titan Play, and more. I learned about growth within a company and became a manager of the content team. When a TiVo recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin I discovered another amazing team that I was ready to be a part of. I am able to keep working with digital and content creators via the TiVo+ stream device, but I also get to work with the big names in streaming and television. Programming editorial and automated from most of the movie and tv shows out there is a fun part of the day-to-day. I am here to give content a personality, for example starting TBT collections for various throwback or making a "Live-Action Movies You Love to Hate" feed for other anime fans like myself. It is awesome to be at the forefront of new media endeavors. I look forward to the future of content in this ever-expanding technological era, and the part I have to play. Feel free to contact me with any business inquiries or questions!
