Creative writer, essayist, coffee nerd. Studying visual communication design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. I am a conscientious, motivated, team-oriented individual who wants to inspire confidence and camaraderie in others. In April of this year I graduated from Briercrest College & Seminary with an Associate of Arts in the Humanities. My degree has allowed me to study a broad range of subjects like English literature, psychology, and history, as well as ancient and modern philosophy. My studies have helped me develop strong critical thinking and deepened my understanding of what it means for people to pursue a meaningful life. During my time at Briercrest, I worked at Pioneer Camp Pacific on seasonal summer staff, where I developed my service skills as a camp counselor. I also volunteered with the Here4U team at YouthQuake, Briercrest's annual youth conference (2016-2017). As part of this team, I welcomed leaders and youth to the campus, checked them into their rooms, answered questions for guests, and assisted with the setup and teardown of equipment. My most personally impactful volunteer experience was a high school trip to Guatemala in 2013, which gave me a concern for social inequities around the world, as well as in my own city of Vancouver. I have since developed a strong belief in responsible environmental stewardship and systems that are both culturally aware and people-oriented. I hope to inspire others to consider these two principles in their lifestyle, work and relationships. In my spare time, I love writing, reading (usually old books), gardening, trying new single-origin coffees, cooking new recipes, and going hiking in the north shore of Vancouver with my wife Bailey.
