Star Spilos was the former co-owner of the Vancouver's Tomato Fresh Food Cafe with her husband Christian Gaudreault. We wrote the award winning best seller "As Fresh as it Gets: Everyday recipes from the Tomato Fresh Food Cafe." My lifelong interest in food and in baking began by watching my mother create desserts. As a graduate of the Dubrulle French Culinary School, I received a Les Dames D'Escoffier scholarship to The Culinary Institue of America — Napa Valley. I've taught baking for the Vancouver School Board and Vancouver Community College.
