Description
Deakin is looking for a highly motivated person to work as a customer service supervisor for our Vancouver store. We want someone who has a passion for sales and has excellent customer service, and is also a great team player, able to work well in a small team. This is a permanent full-time position. Excellent English language and interpersonal skills are critical.
Deakin has been outfitting a wide array of field professionals and industries all around the world for 50 years! Thanks to our excellent customer service, many of our customers have been with us since Ross Deakin started this company in 1971. The professionals we serve include earth scientists, engineers, government agencies, schools, search and rescue, and even the film industry. We source thousands of professional-grade products for our customers, and we also fabricate our own signature cruiser vest in our Vancouver store.

Tasks
- Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.)
- Assign sales workers to duties
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff
- Authorize return of merchandise
- Sell merchandise
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
- Manage cash
- Professionalism in customer service

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
