Must be available for training and may be required to work evenings as late as 1 AM
Wage & Paygrade: $18.00/hr (PG 72) plus 10% in lieu of benefits and vacation

The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 114-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15-day annual summer Fair and winter Fair which average more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. Fright Nights at the PNE is Western Canada’s Scariest Haunt, having multiple Haunted Houses and other attractions on-site in Playland. The PNE is looking for Front of House Attendants that have a passion for the Halloween events industry and the PNE.
The Front of House Attendant will work under the direction of the Production Managers & Supervisors and will provide exceptional guest service to attendees of the Haunted Houses and will work in compliance with all health and safety requirements as determined by WorkSafeBC, and all other applicable legislation and company policies.

What will you do this year?
In your role as a Front of House Attendant, your primary accountabilities will be to:
- Provide professional guest service to all Fright Nights attendees
- Work well in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate attraction rules and guidelines to visiting guests
- Monitor Haunted Attraction line ups
- Track and communicate Haunted Attraction throughput numbers
- Maintain communication with Attraction Supervisor
- Follow safety procedures as required
- Perform other duties as required
What else?
- Completion of Grade 11 by September 1, 2024, is required
- Related experience or education in guest services/customer service is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Halloween Industry is considered an asset
- Love of Halloween/Horror considered an asset
- Previous radio communication experience is considered an asset
- Ability to work in spaces with strobe lights, loud noises, smells, and other environments that may cause sensory issues
- Must be comfortable with gore and macabre including within costumes and make up
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to identify potential safety concerns
- Must be able to function both independently and in a team environment
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be able to work extended hours and workweeks as required throughout the month of October
- Must be able to work all mandatory training dates throughout the month of September
