Description
The Blue Horizon seeks a dynamic Manager on Duty to join our team.
We are well located in the heart of Robson Street with its wonderful variety of shops and eateries for every taste and budget. Our 215 spacious guest rooms are all corner rooms with 2 walls of windows from the cruciform shape of the hotel. Our guests enjoy spectacular panoramic views of our beautiful city with the English Bay water view being the favourite.
We value delivering excellent guest service experiences, team work, a respectful workplace and consistent processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven Leadership, Hotel Front Desk skills and a strong working knowledge of hospitality industry service principles for a hands on position
- Strong working knowledge of the local area
- Understand the importance of your ability to making meaningful connections with guests, and to have a positive impact on their experience
- Able to multi-task, be efficient, respond quickly, make decisions and meet deadlines
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide warm welcome and facilitate efficient guest arrivals and departures
- Knowledgeably answer inquiries on hotel services, as well as attractions and services available in the area
- Ensures timely action on guest requests
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Accurately complete reports
- Professional personal appearance
- Remain current on room rates, room availability, groups, events to facilitate reservations
- Knowledgeable on emergency procedures
- Actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe workplace
- Be available for afternoons and weekends
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Excellent people and coaching skills
- Minimum 1 years' experience in supervisory Hotel Front Desk role
- Understand the importance of guest service experience
- Excellent time management
- Adaptable and able to handle multiple priorities
- Enthusiastic and focused to exceed guest expectations
- Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of proactive problem solving and decision making
- Capable of handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others
